Beekeeping Visit
Martin Roberts gives the most informative and complete information sessions on how to set up and run bee hives ever thought possible, sprinkled liberally with amazing historical and biological facts.
There are over 2,000 different types of native Australian bees! Many are not sociable and live in the ground or in holes or in tree cavities. The common Central Coast Native Bee is about as big as two to three fruit flies or about 1/3 the size of a house fly.
A tasting of Martin’s various honeys and mead often follows his sessions. The Central Coast Beekeepers’ Group meets on the Third Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm at Bill Sohier Park, Ourimbah.
These bee workshops are a good example of the type of activities PCC arranges for its members. If you are interested in these types of activities, become a member and reap the benefits.
