Information Evening – Growing Mushrooms

Mushrooms
05/06/2017

Guest Speaker: Peter Rogers

Back 20 years ago his family were members of a group called Central Coast Permaculture, with great ideas but not enough members to be sustainable, winding up in about 1998.

Having been part of the Nursery industry for nearly 30 years, 2016 brought a change of direction for him, and an extended trip to the UK.
Whilst there for family reasons, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to further his experience in 2 areas that had been of particular interest, whilst providing gardening solutions to the public.

The first was in Aquaponics where he undertook a 2-day course at the UK’s largest aquaponics trout facility.
The second was a visit to one of the homes of Coffee grounds mushroom cultivation in Exeter: Grocycle.
This is an exciting social enterprise promoting sustainability on many levels and their ideas have travelled around the world, forming the basis of his Mushroom Cultivation workshop.
